BCL — three-phase brake motors, aluminium frame
Three-phase motors with an electromagnetic DC brake, frames 63 to 160, 0.09 – 18.5 kW.
The BCL series couples an asynchronous three-phase motor with a spring-applied electromagnetic DC brake. The brake is fed through a diode-bridge rectifier in the terminal box and releases when energised; on loss of supply the springs apply the brake within milliseconds. A hand-release lever is available on request.
Key characteristics
Braking loads on the drive shaft, stopping rotating masses to shorten cycle times, positioning accuracy and safety stops on machinery.
- Connection and release times of 5 – 80 ms
- Brake torque from 4 Nm (frame 63) to 150 Nm (frame 160)
- Adjustable braking torque via the ring nut; air gap to be checked periodically
- Aluminium frame, IP55, insulation class F
- 2, 4 and 6-pole versions
